# Chapter 91: Seizing the Treasure
Just as the dwarf was feeling triumphant, and Han Li was secretly scheming, two more figures leaped out from the Sect of Seven Mysteries' side. Without a word, they charged straight toward the dwarf with lightning speed. They were the remaining two Martial Uncles of Wang Juechu.
Both men wore expressions of deep grief. Clearly, the death of the burly man had hit them hard. Their hatred for Gold Light Immortal burned fiercely, and they paid no mind to whether the dwarf was some sort of sword immortal. Their only thought was to kill him and avenge their fallen brother.
Sect Leader Wang had initially wanted to stop their reckless charge, but then he reconsidered. This dwarf who wielded demonic arts would have to be faced sooner or later, and his two Martial Uncles were the only ones who might pose a threat to him. Rather than stopping them now, it was better to let them fight while their desire for vengeance was at its peak.
With that thought, the words of command Wang Juechu had been about to shout died in his throat.
Having learned his lesson from the recent encounter, Gold Light Immortal did not underestimate his opponents this time. He channeled his gray light and pointed at the two charging figures. The gray glow immediately transformed into a long rainbow, streaking toward them.
The scholar among the two oncoming fighters saw the gray light—likely a flying sword—approaching. He raised an eyebrow and flicked his wrist. A thin silver line shot from his sleeve, colliding head-on with the gray glow. The impact caused the gray light to pause momentarily, but it continued its advance unabated. The silver line had clearly not done much.
Others might not have seen what the silver line was, but Han Li, with his superhuman vision granted by the Eternal Spring Art, saw it clearly. It was dozens of silver needles linked in a straight line. He wondered what technique the scholar used to launch such lightweight needles with such tremendous force. It piqued his curiosity.
When the scholar saw the silver line fail, he did not panic. He bent his body and suddenly began spinning in place like a top. From his rotating form, countless cold gleams of varying sizes burst forth. They split into two streams: one formed a silver torrent that clashed directly with the gray light, producing crackling sounds as it held the gray glow suspended in midair; the other stream flew straight toward the dwarf, striking the golden shield with a spectacular clatter.
The silver torrent fighting the gray light kept shedding fragments, but they were too incomplete to reveal their original forms. However, the gleams that struck the golden shield and rebounded were intact—flying knives, bodhi seeds, iron lotus seeds, gold coins, and various other hidden weapons of every description, plus some strange objects whose names he could not recall.
Gold Light Immortal was briefly stunned, but then he curled his lip. He did not believe these common metals and iron could withstand his treasure for long.
"DIE!" A thunderous shout rang across the battlefield, startling everyone.
Only then did people realize that the gray-robed man who had charged out with the scholar had, at some point, drawn the sword from his back. He was now walking steadily toward the gray light, leaving footprints with each step. At the tip of his sword, a white glow over two inches long flickered and pulsed, radiating a bone-chilling coldness.
"Sword glow!" someone shouted the name of this supreme sword technique that all swordsmen dreamed of attaining.
The crowd erupted in a roar!
If flying swords were the stuff of legends, then sword glow was the stuff of myths—the ultimate aspiration of every swordsman.
Now, not only had both flying swords and sword glow appeared, but they were about to clash in battle. How could this not set the blood of everyone present boiling, making them feel that this life had not been lived in vain?
Jia Tianlong, however, felt no excitement—only a chill running down his spine and cold sweat pouring from his brow. He finally understood what it meant to realize the danger too late, to feel fear after the fact!
He had known that the Sect of Seven Mysteries harbored three great experts, but he never imagined their skill would reach the level of sword glow. If he had not brought Gold Light Immortal, a cultivator, to assist, this gray-robed man alone could have slaughtered everyone on his side.
While Jia Tianlong stood pale with fright, the gray-robed man had reached the spot beneath the gray light.
Whether it was intentional or because the scholar had truly exhausted his hidden weapons, the scholar's spinning suddenly ceased. The silver torrent holding back the gray light dissipated. Unimpeded, the gray glow descended mercilessly toward the gray-robed man's head.
Gripping his sword with both hands, the gray-robed man leaped into the air without fear. He swung the sword glow and hacked down at the gray light with all his strength.
*Clang!* A clear sound rang out as the gray-robed man fell from the sky to the ground. He staggered back several steps, then opened his mouth and spat a mouthful of blood, his expression turning listless. The front three inches of his sword had vanished, leaving only a blunt stump.
Struck by this blow, the gray light plummeted from the sky like a shot bird, falling to the dust. Yet even so, its brilliance remained undimmed as it twitched and pulsed on the ground, displaying remarkable spiritual vitality.
Seeing this, both Jia Tianlong's side and the Sect of Seven Mysteries cried out in shock. However, the Sect's cries were filled with joy, while Jia Tianlong's people were filled with worry.
The scholar was also overjoyed. He glanced at the weakened gray-robed man, then at the dwarf. After a brief hesitation, he floated toward the dwarf, intending to eliminate the greater threat first.
Before the scholar had moved a few steps, a shout came from behind: "Dodge quickly!"
The scholar's heart lurched. He tried to react, but felt a chill at his neck as the gray light flashed past his eyes. Then he saw a headless body running a few steps before collapsing to the ground. The back looked strangely familiar. The moment the scholar realized whose body it was, consciousness faded completely.
Gold Light Immortal now radiated arrogance. He directed the gray light, which had leaped up from the ground once more, toward the sole survivor among the three great experts—the gray-robed man. He was immensely pleased with himself for eliminating the scholar with a simple ruse.
He was considering how to slaughter the remaining members of the Sect of Seven Mysteries as soon as the gray-robed man was dealt with, when a voice suddenly carried from the opposing crowd: "That thing of yours that flies back and forth—I like it. How about giving it to me to play with?"
Before the words had finished, he felt a powerful spiritual force attach itself to the gray light, forcibly severing his connection to it and wresting control away.
The gray light, which had been heading for the gray-robed man, suddenly turned in midair and wobbled erratically toward the crowd opposite.
Wherever the gray light passed, people panicked and scattered in all directions. Only one person remained unmoved—a young man who appeared to be only seventeen or eighteen, with an ordinary appearance. He smiled at Gold Light Immortal, revealing teeth startlingly white against his dark skin. Then he pointed at the gray light, and it obediently descended into his hand.
"A cultivator!" The dwarf's heart went cold, and his face drained of all color.
